Matias releases worthy successor to Apple’s recently discontinued wired keyboard
TORONTO, Canada, August 30, 2017 — Matias today announced its Wired Aluminum Keyboard for Mac, a sleek Apple-inspired design, with built-in USB 2.0 hub and precision volume dial.
“When Apple released the Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad, they discontinued their original wired model, leaving the Mac community without a suitable replacement. Our new Matias Wired Aluminum Keyboard is more than suitable. It captures the essence of the Apple original — and even improves on it, with the addition of a precision volume dial,” said Edgar Matias, CEO of Matias.
“The new volume dial is perfect for users with external speakers, giving you 4x finer control over the volume. That’s 64 volume levels, compared to the 16 levels you get from the volume keys,” said Matias.
The keyboard will be available in a wide range of international layouts (US, EU, Asian) and can be pre-ordered now.
The Matias Wired Aluminum Keyboard is available for $59 (US) from Matias and authorized resellers.

Co-founded by an inventor and an accountant, Matias led the way in re-establishing the mechanical keyboard market, starting in 2003 with the release of its award winning Tactile Pro Keyboard for Mac, and more recently with the development of its own ALPS-inspired Matias Mechanical Keyswitches.
